Part 5:
*Justin**
I picked up Paisley and wrapped her in my sweatshirt, so her and blankey stay dry. I started running in the direction Sarah went. I ran and ran, but didn't know where she'd be, because somebody didn't tell me about herself. Note the sarcasm.*
"Sarah?!"
I didn't see anyone, mainly because my vision was impared due to the pouring rain, but I still looked desperately. "Paisley, where's Mommy?"*
She looked around and pointed to an old tree. I saw a figure, walking on the limbs and roots of the tree. "Sarah?" I called.*
She turned and smiled. "Come, Justin." I ****ed an eyebrow.
I walked towards her, flipping my hair, trying to get rid of the surplus of water on my head alone. "Sarah, I think -"
"Sh, sh, sh," she said, raising a finger and pressing lightly on my lips. My stomach did a flip, but I stayed calm. She suddenly tipped her head back and started laughing loudly. "Dance with me, Justin."*
"I think I should take you home -"
"Dance with me," she whined, playing with my sleeve. She's delerious. I placed Paisley down on the ground and she plopped down to her butt. Sarah extended a hand, smiling like an idiot. "Come on. Don't be shy."
"Sarah, let's go," I said, grabbing her wrist. She pulled away violently.*
"You don't own me!"*
"You need to come with me. You're going to get sick. Let's go to my place. We can dance there. Just come on," I said, furrowing my brow.*
"No," she laughed. "Dance."
"If I dance with you, then can I take you home?" I asked.*
She bit her lip and thought for a minute. Then she smiled and nodded. She extended her hand and I grabbed it, then pulled her closer by her waist. She gasped and her breath hitched in her throat.*
She kept her hand in mine, and wrapped the other around my waist, and I did the same. She looked me in the eye the whole time. I found myself hypnotized by her eyes. It's like swimming in a backyard pool, with little specks of gold in them, reminding me of perfection.*
I felt a tingling across my body when she laid her head on my chest, her brown hair drenched, but still smelling like watermelons. I closed my eyes and prayed that this would last forever. It didn't. She pulled away and let go. "Are we going to go home now?" she whispered. I couldn't move; I couldn't breath. I couldn't speak, nod, see. I couldn't think.*
"Justin?" she whispered, waving a hand in front of my face.*
"Yeah," I gulped. She nodded and picked up Paisley and walked off, leaving me to the tree. It may as well tied itself to my ankles with it's roots and pulled me under, swallowing me whole. I shook my head and turned around.
I walked, well ran, until I caught up with Sarah. She was looking up into the rainy sky,*her breath visible in the chilly air. Paisley was now chewing on my blanket, but she can keep it. "Come." I grabbed her by her arm and led her to my Fisker Karma, letting her get in. I found her car in the garage and grabbed the car seat. I put that under my arm and went into the house. All went silent again, so I sighed and yelled, "Party it up!"
They all hooted and hollered, so I made an escape to what I knew was Paisley's room. I grabbed a baby bag or something and filled it with a stuffed animal from the bed, some purple dress from a drawer, a pair of undies, sandals, and a pillow.
Then I ran down the hall, in search for Sarah's room. I opened each door, looking and peeking, until a room with:
S A R A H
in big, wooden letters was on the wall. The walls were painted sky blue, with literally clouds at the top, and a big bed with a tan canopy was in the middle. I smiled and found a tote. I filled it with a pillow, phone charger, a pair of jeans, a pair of underwear and a bra, a shirt, and socks and shoes. It was fun looking through her panties. Excuse my hormones, please.
I zipped her bag, and carried both bags and the carseat out the door and into the living room, where I slipped out easily. I ran to my car and put the bags in the trunk. I set up the carseat and ran over to the passengers side. I opened the door and saw Sarah asleep with Paisley wide awake on her chest. "Come here," I said, prying her off of Sarah and closing the door quietly.
"Is Mommy okay?" she asked.
"She's just tired," I chuckled. I tucked her into the car seat, buckled her and got into the drivers. I sighed and sat for a minute.
This was a stressful evening.
I pulled my car into reverse and pulled out. I still can't believe I found her house. It was easier than I thought. A little map quest and boom! I'm as good as there. I was on the highway when Sarah mumbled in her sleep. "Don't touch me. Stop, please. Go away," she said. I glanced at her nervously.
I was driving peacefully in the silence of my amazing car when Sarah sat up screaming. I pulled the car over and rubbed her shoulder. "Sarah.."
"Just - Justin?"
"It's okay. It was just a dream."
"Mommy does that a lot," Paisley said. I looked at Sarah sympathetically, but she was knocked out again. "She screams at night. I think she dreams of my daddy."
"Paisley, you don't have a daddy," Sarah muttered. I drove home and all was silent. Paisley helped herself and jumped out. I climbed out and ran over to Sarah's side. I opened the door for her and helped her out. She was chattering from the cold so I wrapped my arm around her. She followed me to the door and I fumbled with the keys before unlocking it and we walked in.
