Kasey's POV
When we got back, it was about 10 at night, and I couldn't stop smiling.
I couldn't believe it.
We went into the house, where my mother was sitting on the couch with Justin's mom and Sydney.
When we came through the door, Justin's mom came to hug me first, wrapping her arms around my neck, crying softly.
"Mrs. Mallette, why are you crying?"
"For you. For how I happy I am to have you in the family. For how strong you are, with everything life has thrown at you. And finally for Sydney. The biggest step of all. Honey, you have become like my daughter, and now you are going to be, and I'm so proud of you."
I hugged her back to, finally realizing once and for all that, I had overcome it all.
And it was behind me now.
I was engaged, and I had Sydney. I had my mother, and Pattie who were all my biggest support system.
I had Natasha, who had become my best friend alongside Whitney, who had always been.
I had Sarah, who I had met by accident, and I had Decklen, who I had also become close with, through it all.
I also had one other girl, Dani. The last few months of school, she and I had also become close, and I knee I had her to rely on through it all. She was heading out to college in New York too, and I
was happy I would have her around. She had been so determined to push me through, and she is the last bit of energy I needed to get through it all. With school, and just with life.
I was thankful for what I had. I was also thankful for my past.
for everything. Becuase had it not been the way it was, I never would have met any of these people. I wouldn't be as close to my mother as I am now.
and I never would have had Sydney.
So here I am. Through it all.
and no matter, I'm gonna keep my head up high and push through, because there is people that need me.
And finally, I'm okay.
And I know I will be.
And I owe it to Justin. Because Justin broke my walls down. He broke down my barriers, and never quit. And I owe him everything.

Author's POV
It was the day of the wedding, and everyone was already in the church, waiting for the bride.
The groom had already walked down the island, nervous as ever, because of the beautiful lady who would become his bride.
Questions rushed through his head.
Just a room away sat Kasey, the bride. Her hair neatly done and tucked behind the veil, her makeup done just so.
The dress Justin had bought her, its grandiose lace falling to the ground.
She was a beautiful bride, now strong and her cheeks fluttered with pink, emphasizing the life in her.
She was healthy, and most beautiful.
Her little one Sydney, sat at the foot of Kaaey's dress, watching her mother turn into the princess she promised a while back she would be.
Sydney was in awe.
"Mommy, are you a princess now?"
Kasey smiled, at her child, who was small yet so full of life and always gave her the strength to keep going.
"Yes, baby. Your mommy is a princess. But you know what?"
"What?" The little girl said, curiously.
"You are mommy's princess."
Sydney smiled wide, and smoothed her dress, as Kasey fixed the little girl's tiara.
"Time for the flower girl, then the bride!"
The wedding manager called, smiming at the sight of a mother with her child.
Kasey stood up, and grabbed Sydney's hand.
"Ready baby?"
"Yes."
They walked through the door, to the hall, where the open doors of the chapel were.
Kasey leaned down and kissed Sydney, then let her go off. The little girl through the rose petal across the floor, its pedals catching the light, as the little girl with the bouncy curls twirled across the chapel to where Justin stood.
He leaned down to kiss her small cheek, and Sydney smiled happily.
"Prince Justin take Princess mommy."
She whispered in his ear. He grinned from ear to ear, the wonder of the girl who would be her daughter.
Then the music started. The music if the bride.
Everyone stood and turned around to face her, as she began to walk down the isle.
She wasn't walking alone. Her father was not here to give her away, but her mother was.
Kasey's mother stood holding on to Kasey's arm, trying hard not to cry, for her only daughter was being given away today to a man.
They walked along, and finally it was time for her to let go.
Kasey's mother, leaned down to Kasey's ear and whispered, "I love you. To me you shall always be, my little girl."
Kasey kissed her mother's cheek, then proceeded to take the arm of Justin, who leaned down and complimented her.
He had tears in his eyes, and so much nerves. But the most he had was love. Love for his bride.
They reached the podium, where stood the pastor, and on one side stood all of Kasey's dearest friends as her bridesmaids.
Dani, Whitney, Decklen, Natasha, and an array of other girls she held dear to her heart. As well as the little flower girl, Sydney.
On the other side stood, all of Justin's men dressed their best.
The pastor began the cermony, as Justin squeezed Kasey's hand.
"This is it."
He whispered.
"It is."
Finally when all was said, the pastor asked if anyone was against them.
No one objected, and everyone stood.
"I know pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride."
Ever so gently, Justin leaned down to kiss his girl.
When the kiss broke, Sydney ran to her mother and her new step father.
Justin picked her ip in his arms, as they walked back through the isle.
Now, Kasey was okay.
She had her obstacles, she had her trials.
But she also had a new husband. And a best friend, who had torn down her barriers and made her believe in love and again. And she knew she always would, because her wounds were healing, and her wings were ready.
Ready to sore. Higher, higher, higher.
With him who was now the wind beneath her wings, and her, the little girl with the bouncy curls who was her greatest motivation.
And that is what it was.
Torn barriers, by one who didn't give up. Never.

:'( I'm crying so much inside right now, partly because the story is finished but mostly because of the story and how much love there was. You're such a great writer that I'm in so much awe right now.![]()
